Geology is the study of the Earth's composition, processes, and history, and ways geologic principles apply to the Moon and planets of the Solar System.
It need not mandatory that geological sciences degree prepares students for a wide range of careers in industry, government and education. Many specialties require further graduate training either for career entry or advancement.
